Get Up Earlier

A lack of time is one of the biggest reasons why people skip breakfast. You can change that by changing your morning habits and getting up 30 minutes to an hour earlier. Learning how to sleep better at night will help you get the rest you need to feel more energized in the morning. It doesn’t have to take long to make and eat breakfast, but that additional time will give you a chance to get your morning off to the best start.

Prep the Night Before

If you’re short on time in the mornings, you could try making your breakfast the night before. There are a lot of overnight breakfast recipes you can try that require minimal effort but are extremely tasty. It’s simple, but an easy time-saver that will stop your excuses for not eating breakfast! Fruit is especially easy to prepare in advance, and if you freeze chunks of it you can put it out to defrost overnight so that it’s ready to use by morning.

Skip the Cereal and Try Something Wholesome

Cereal is a common breakfast choice, but it’s not always the healthiest option. Many kinds of cereal can be packed with sugar, which can leave you feeling hungry again by mid-morning. Why not try some hot food like scrambled eggs or omelet and eating vegetables for breakfast? A dose of avocado, some peppers, or spinach with your eggs makes a tasty and filling breakfast and helps you to get those essential nutrients first thing in the morning!

Use a Clever To-Go Option

Breakfast in a hurry is sometimes a necessity, or perhaps you don’t like eating breakfast straight after waking up! Some easy to-go breakfast options include oatmeal and smoothies, which you can easily make and transport. You could also try making breakfast burritos or other easy to eat foods that you can enjoy during your commute! Look at options you can batch make and potentially freeze to make it even easier to head out of the door in the morning!

Getting in the habit of eating breakfast is important, and it’s important to teach the whole family to adopt good habits. Sitting down together to make and eat breakfast is another great excuse to bring your kids into the kitchen too! Whether you prefer something sweet or something hot in the mornings, make time for breakfast and see the difference it can make to your day!
