Banish Boring Breakfasts Forever!

Soggy cereal getting you down? Well, you’ve come to the right place. In fact, we’re here to discuss a range of healthy and delicious breakfasts that are anything but boring.

French Toast 

You may be used to eating french toast made with white bread and smothered in powdered sugar and maple syrup. However, this dish can be made both more interesting and healthy with a few simple tweaks. The first one is to use brown or whole grain bread as the base. In fact, if you toast it very slightly beforehand, it can stand up much better to the processes of being covered in egg. 

Secondly, serve with fruit rather than bacon, and instead of maple syrup, choose low sugar option instead. Although, if you wanted something healthy, but a lot more out of the box, why not serve a savory option with sauteed mushroom and spinach? You can even add crispy turkey bacon too! 

Upma

Unless you or your family hail from the southern regions of India, you may not have heard about this delicious and very healthy breakfast dish. Upma is a dish made primarily from semolina, but also includes a mixture of spices and decoys vegetables as well. There are even a few yummy cashews thrown in there for texture! Of course, if you have never made upma before, you will need a good recipe, which you can get by clicking on the previous link. Just remember that using genuine herbs and spices rather than a mix, and roasting off the semolina beforehand will make all the difference to this fantastic dish. 

Mini Egg Tarts 

If you are a fan of quiche or frittata, then this is the breakfast recipe for you. It’s so easy to make as well, as all you need to do is whip up 5 eggs in a bowl and then add the ingredients of your choice. Lean bacon, onions, and a sprinkle of blue cheese work well. Pour the mixture into greased muffin tins, or silicone ones are even better because you can get the tarts out with minimum breakage. Then sprinkle a little half fat grated cheddar on the top and bake until puffed up and golden brown. Delicious! 

Smoothie Bowl 

Finally, if you are looking for something a little different, then why not let your inspiration come from Instagram and embrace smoothie bowls? In fact, these delicious treats are a combination of healthful smoothies and other ingredients, which makes them not only tasty but stunningly beautiful as well. After all, they do say that we eat with our eyes before our mouths. Of course, to begin, you need to find a smoothie recipe that works for you, such as this blueberry mix, or how about this power-packing peanut butter version. Then it’s time to add extras like sliced fruits, the more exotic, the better, as well as added texture, which you can get from crushed nuts or chia seeds.
